Silicium functions in human organism haven't been studied enough. Silicium is considered to take part in chemical reaction which tightens small subunit of fibrous tissues of human organism, collagen and elastin, together making them strong and resilient. Silicium also takes part in calcification of bones though it's not known what part it is.
There are still no recommendations regarding this component. Approximate interval of consumption is 20-40 mg/day for adults. Usual food provides enough of silicium. Inexhaustible source of silicium is vegetable food rich in cellulose.
